Updated schedule of UC’s Pride events

Below is an updated Visibility/Pride schedule for the University of Cincinnati:

*Wednesday, April 29: Prop 8/Marriage discussion panel 11 a.m. – 12:30 p .m.

*Thursday, April 30: Elephant in the Room: Homophobia in the Black Community discussion 7 p.m. African American Cultural Resource Center

*Monday, May 4: Potluck in the Visibility Tent at noon on McMicken Commons

*Monday, May 4: Screening of Trembling Before God with a panel from Hillel at 6:30 p.m. in Swift 720

*Tuesday, May 5: Judy Shepard lecture at 7 p.m. Tangeman University Center’s Great Hall 

*Wednesday, May 6: Screening of Saving Face at 6:30 p.m. in Swift 816

*Thursday, May 7: Scott Turner Schofield performance at 8 p.m. DAAP 4400

*Friday, May 8: GenderBloc GenderF*ck Drag Show 9 p.m. Catskeller with special guests Big Gay Motherfuckin’ Al and JAC McFaggin from the Black Mondays

*Saturday, May 9: “Me and My Cello,” a solo recital by Ethan Philbrick (who brought us CGQB) at St. John’s Unitarian Church (320 Resor Ave., Clifton) at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door (checks or cash). For those of you who don’t have the funds for a full priced ticket, have no fear: Because there will be a little gender-related surprise during the show, anyone who comes in some state of genderqueer, no matter how small, get’s in for $5!

*Visibility Tent will be up on the McMicken Commons from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Monday, May 4, to Friday, May 8.

Also, Julia Serano, trans-activist and author of Whipping Girl: A Transsexual Woman on Sexism and the Scapegoating of Femininity, will be lecturing at UC on Wednesday, April 22, at 7 p.m. in Swift Hall Room 500.
