Star: Prejean’s mother had lesbian affair

I had heard rumblings of Miss California Carrie Prejean’s parents slinging mud at each other during their messy divorce – including accusing each other of being gay – but the story has grown much more interesting: Star is reporting that Francine Coppola, Prejean’s mother, was allegedly sleeping with a woman up until the night of the Miss USA competition.

“Yes, Francine [Coppola] and I dated,” Valerie Vetrano, an openly-gay woman, told Star.

Star also reports that Coppola would never tell her friends and family about the relationship because she is a Christian and they wouldn’t be accepting.

This is from a tabloid, so it should be taken with a grain of salt, but tabloids do have a habit of knowing what is really going on in the lives of celebrities before they actually admit it (Brangelina, anyone?).

At any rate, it is understandable that Prejean would be against gay marriage if she saw her parents accusing each other of being gay when they were divorcing. If she blamed homosexual tendencies on their divorce, then she would probably have a negative view of gay people. The whole thing is really just so sad.

  1. Yes, that would make sense. It is sad that her bad experiences may have influenced her views on gay marriage, but I suppose that is true of most people on most issues.

    • The choice of that purple thing with pink hair as your pic tells me you’re a self-hating ‘mo. Crawl back to Ted Haggard’s (former) church, will you? 🙂
