June’s Cincinnati Guerrilla Queer Bar excursion went down at Cadillac Ranch, downtown across from the Contemporary Arts Center. (The exterior of the building housing Cadillac Ranch even has a large-scale installation complementing a former exhibit of the CAC.) The bar was huge with at least three different bars that I could see and a mechanical bull.
After this last CGQB, I wish every bar had a mechanical bull – I kept sneaking off from the dance floor to watch drunken fools fall off the thing after a few seconds.
I wasn’t impressed with Cadillac Ranch. It was overcrowded, most of the staff was rude to me and my party, the food was overpriced and advertised dollar drafts were only for two hours, but the keg ran out after less then one hour and they refused to sell any more.
But the company was great, and CGQB was a great kick-off to Pride month. Can’t wait for July!
