Quote: Ky. archbishop on gay marriage

Kurtz | Archlou.org

“Marriage exists prior to the state and is not open to redefinition by the state. The role of the state, instead, is to respect and reinforce marriage.”

—Roman Catholic Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz of Kentucky, chair of the U.S. Bishops’ Ad Hoc Committee for the Defense of Marriage, said to 365gay.com.

  1. Right he is. The state must never redefine marriage from how God defined it in His Word: the union of one man and as many wives, concubines, sex slaves, and rape victims as he can afford to maintain, with no remarriage in case believers divorce. By the way, the Bible also says that a bishop is to be the husband of one wife, so when do we get to meet Archbishop Kurtz’s wife?
