Ohio Gov. John Kasich issued an executive order Friday, reinstating sexual orientation non-discrimination protections for state employees. Gender identity and expression was not included in the order.
The new state employee non-discrimination policy leaves transgender employees and applicants open to discrimination, a class that was previously protected under Gov. Ted Strickland’s administration.
In response, Equality Ohio is mobilizing state employees and potential state employees who were discriminated against based on gender identity and expression. Email email@example.com to get involved.
