Action Alert: Tell Kasich to issue a transgender inclusive policy

Ohio Gov. John Kasich issued an executive order Friday, reinstating sexual orientation non-discrimination protections for state employees. Gender identity and expression was not included in the order.

The new state employee non-discrimination policy leaves transgender employees and applicants open to discrimination, a class that was previously protected under Gov. Ted Strickland’s administration.

In response, Equality Ohio is mobilizing state employees and potential state employees who were discriminated against based on gender identity and expression. Email kim@equalityohio.org to get involved.

UPDATE: GetEqual Ohio issued an action alert about Kasich’s non-inclusive executive order, and the group is urging all Ohioans to sign it.
